Samples before bulk orders: when and how
A sample costs little compared to a wrong bulk order. Here is how to use samples well.
When do you need a sample?
For a new product, a new supplier, or anything where quality, size or colour matters.
How to evaluate it
- Dimensions and materials against your specification.
- Finish, stitching or assembly quality.
- Packing and how it arrived.
- Ask for a production sample, not a special display piece.
After approval
Keep the approved sample or its photos as the reference when inspecting the bulk order.
FAQ
Is the sample cost deducted from the order?
Some suppliers deduct it from the bulk order; it varies by supplier.
